Kishan is a Director of Breakpoint LLC and has over a decade of experience in dispute resolution, with particular expertise in construction, engineering and property-related matters. 

 

Kishan has represented clients with success at all levels of Court, as well as in arbitrations, statutory adjudications, dispute boards, mediations and neutral evaluations. His clients include developers, contractors, consultants, government-linked entities, specialist sub-contractors and MCSTs. Kishan also regularly engages in front-end work, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts and tender documents for construction and infrastructure projects.

• Represented an international contractor in SIAC arbitration and other proceedings involving the employer and sub-contractors, in relating to the construction of a hospital in Singapore

• Represented a specialist contractor in SIAC arbitration proceedings involving the construction of a major project in the UAE

• Represented a listed contractor in HKIAC arbitration proceedings against an international contractor, involving the construction of a major project in Saudi Arabia

• Represented a specialist sub-contractor in SIAC arbitration proceedings against a Chinese contractor, involving the construction of a MRT station in Singapore

• Represented one of the world’s largest contractors in various disputes in connection with an integrated petrochemical refinery in Jurong Island, Singapore with construction costs in excess of S$1 billion

• Represented a specialist sub-contractor in a dispute with the main contractor relating to piping works for the construction of a major petrochemical plant on Jurong Island, Singapore 

• Represented the owner of a conservation shophouse in a High Court suit in a dispute with the project’s main contractor, architect and professional engineer, over novel issues involving contractual, tortious and statutory duties 

• Represented a leading local architectural firm in a High Court suit brought by a Japanese developer 

• Represented one of the largest listed REITs in Singapore in a long-running and complex dispute with a major tenant 

• Advised a major Indonesian conglomerate in a complex dispute with a listed Malaysian telecommunications company, involving court and arbitration proceedings in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Hong Kong 

• Advised a listed REIT on bespoke construction and consultancy agreements involving major A&A works for a hospital in Singapore

• Advised a global financial advisory firm on fit-out contracts for their various premises in Singapore

• Advised one of the world’s largest datacentre REITs on various contracts involving the construction of a datacentre in Osaka, Japan 

• Advised a major Japanese contractor on consortium agreements involving projects in Papua New Guinea, Vietnam and Bangladesh

• Advised a global television network on tenancy agreement and employment contracts in relation to its Singapore operations
